ABOUT ANASTASIA

Anastasia Sergeevna Razumova is a queer folk artist and aspiring author. As an international adoptee, she was born in Karintorf, Russia and was raised in the United States. She currently lives in Portland, Oregon with her beloved partner and pets. Anastasia earned her Bachelor's degree in Literature and Creative Writing from American University where she focused on studying Medieval and Renaissance literature. Anastasia is currently working on multiple speculative fiction novels including an Eastern European vampire tale and a post-apocalyptic eco-horror story.

When she is not writing, she can be found crocheting, making her stop-motion animated show, Dymkovo Diaries, and planting her garden. She is greatly inspired by flower symbolism, illuminated manuscripts, and folk art. Anastasia works with a variety of media but mainly creates her best artwork with acrylic and watercolor paints. One of her missions has been to revitalize the folk art practice of making Dymkovo toys from the Kirov region with a twist, creating new designs of animals native to America. She wishes to evoke whimsical energy through all of her artwork and advocates for artistic accessibility and representation.

As someone dedicated to making a difference, she also contributes her creative skills towards humanitarian and fundraising efforts for Ukraine. Despite life’s challenges, Anastasia sees the potential for a brighter future for herself and all humankind.
